Ho Chi Minh - 12/11/2014, 6th VIETWATER Expo & Forum on water supply and sewerage sector, purification technology and wastewter treatment has been inaugurated. At the event, the VWSA also organize the Photo Exhibition on "Water for Life and Prosperity", which was last by the end of 14/11/2014.
Speaking at the Inauguration, Mr. Cao Lai Quang - Vice Minister of Ministry of Cosntruciton, Chairman of VWSA said that, there are still big distances and gaps in the water supply and sewerage sector, compared to the rate of industrialization and population development, as well as high demand from the community.
Therefore, the Government is currently focusing on investment on water supply, sewerage and sanitation sector. The Government has approved orientation, stratergies, plans, national programs and policies to mobilize financial resources - about 185.000 billion dong (approx. 9 billion USSD) for new investment and improvement of water supply and sewerage systems in urban areas.
At the Exhibition, many leading companies in the water sector exhibited the newest technologies and shared experiences for the development of the water sector in Vietnam. The event attract the participants of 9.000 expets in the water sector, including policiy makers and potential customers in the region, via the Busines to Business (B2B) Program.
Within the framework of the Exhibition, there were some important workshops such as" Workshop on "Applying advanced technologies on water supply, sewerage, wastewater treatment and product recycling after treatment"; workshop on "Innovating companies in the water supply and sewerage sector - heading to effective investment and operation"; Seminar on "Experiences sharing on equitization for water supply companies in Vietnam", etc.
The Photo Exhibition on "Water for Life and Prosperity" exhibited the most 120 excellent photos in the photo contest for the water secotr. The Contest was co - organized by Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association, Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Magazine and Photo Press Club - Vietnam Journalist Association.
VIETWATER 2-14 is an ideal forum for national and international water companies to keep on date on the newest trend in the water and wastewater sector.
VIETWATER 2014 was hosted by VWSA, with support from Ministry of Construction, SEAWUN, which attracts the particpation of more than 300 companies and organizations from 32 countries, in the field of services, technolgies for water and wastewater sector.
