On the 10th and 11th of November, 2021, Vietwater 2021 – the main event for Vietnam&;s Water sector was held by The Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association in collaboration with Informa Markets Vietnam on virtual platforms. The event&;s programme included one water sector online exhibition where companies could showcase their products and meet up with their potential partners and customers and three specialized conferences in which speakers and experts from the government, agencies, companies and research institutions gathered and discussed about three significant topics of the country&;s water sector: water supply solutions, water treatment technology and digital transformation.

In the first conference, Water Supply Solutions for Mekong Delta areas to adapt to climate change, the speakers have argue the need to have a sustainable water supply solution for a crucial areas such as the Mekong Delta in the Southern Vietnam and discussed many challenges as well as solutions for this issues. The conference also received many inputs on the matter from experts coming from around the world, including Prof. Kala Vairavamoorthy, Executive Director of the International Water Association, Mr. Michael Waters, Principal Water Resources Engineer from the World Bank and Dr Huy Van Tran, International Coordinator of the Australian Water Association.

The second conference, with the theme Solutions to Urban Drainage, Wastewater Treatment & Flood Control to adapt to Climate Change, was attended by many representatives from government agencies, research institutions and the private sectors. Various interesting opinions and experiences have been shared and examined through presentations and panel discussion to select a set of viable solutions to tackle the challenges in this area.

Concluding the event, the conference themed Digital Transformation of Vietnam&;s water industry gathered many ideas and examples contributed by delegates from the government and some large companies in the water sector. Many suggestions, requests and proposals were raised and sent through discussion to the government by the speakers in order to ensure a more favourable condition for the transformation required to achieve a fully digital water sector in the future.
With a total of 18 presentations and 3 active panel discussions, the conferences and their topics have been highly rated by the attendees and have attracted nearly 2,000 viewers on several platforms.
