First ‘Training of Trainers’ conducted

From 7th to 12th December 2015, the first of seven ‘Training of Trainers&; (ToT) has been conducted on behalf of the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Vietnam Water Supply and Sanitation Association (VWSA).
 
The Wastewater Management Programme (WMP) and VWSA jointly selected 25 participants from wastewater and drainage utilities, universities and institutes. The overall goal of the first four ToT courses is to enable the 25 participants to work as trainers in the wastewater field.

During the first ToT they have been trained by Mr. Dirk Hangstein, Managing Director of Margraf Publishers GmbH, on conceptualisation and didactics of training courses. Among other topics, the participants learned and practiced training needs assessment, presentation techniques, interactive and participatory training methods as well as the usage of a virtual web space. All participants contributed to an open, friendly, enthusiastic and joyous learning atmosphere.

The next ToT on ‘Training Course Design&; will take place from 11th to 15th January 2016. The first four ToTs will be completed by July 2016 and then followed by three financial training workshops for sector professionals interested in teaching financial modules.
