Training course on EU Fundraising

Hanoi, 19/8/2014 – The Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA), with the support of the Project German-Vietnamese Cooperation (GWP - VWSA) for the Competence Development of the Vietnamese Water Sector (DEVIWAs), sponsered by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) via SEQUA, has organized a training course on EU fundraising for VWSA's officials, representatives of MOC, consulting, investment companies and some associations in the North. This is part of capacity buliding activities of DEVIWAS Project with the common objective of strengthening capacity of the water sector in Vietnam.


 
At the training course, Dr.  Dieter Poschardt has introduced basic methodology of approaching EU grants and sharing his experiences in preparing application. Dr. Poschardt stressed that, to succefully received the grant, the organization should clearly indentify its problemts and solutions for the future.

Paricipants discussed about the decreasing water pollution in Vietnam, due to the lack of collection and treatment systemns, low awareness of the community, improper treatment technology and regulations. Under the guidance of Dr. Poschardt, trainees analyzed and finding solutions for these issues, following the approaching methods of preparing applications for EU grants. 
 

Although the time for training was limited, all participants highly appreciated the useful information gained from the course and expect to have such this kind of training in the future.
