Hanoi, 28/4/2014 – The Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA), with the support of the Project German-Vietnamese Cooperation for the Competence Development of the Vietnamese Water Sector (DEVIWAs), sponsered by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) via SEQUA, has organized an internal training course on basic knowledge of the water sector for 15 staffs and journalists working in VWSA and the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Magazine. This is part of capacity buliding activities of DEVIWAS Project with the common objective of strengthening capacity of the water sector in Vietnam.
At the training course, Assoc.Prof. Ung Quoc Dzung, Vice Chairman of VWSA has introduced basic characteristics of the urban water supply and sewerage systems in Vietnam, the importance role of water, and answered questions regarding to the water sector.
The course was highly appreciated by trainees, especially journalists from Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Magazine, as most of them have not been equipped with knowledge of the water sector. Mr. Dong Xuan Thu - Deputy Chief Editor of the Magazine proposed to expand the training course to other journalists in charge of water supply - sewerage - environment fields nationwide, to improving the quality of news covering the water sector.
Mr. Tran Quang Hung - Vice Chairman cum General Secretary of VWSA recognized comments of trainees, and said that the VWSA would consider to expand the training model, to strengthen knowledge of the water sector for VWSA's staffs as well as improving the quality of news in the water sector.
