On March 18 2015, Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA) together with German Water Partnership (GWP) held a thematic workshop on Policy on sewerage and wastewater treatment under the DEVIWAS project. Participants included technical staff and managers from 10 companies of Northern Sewerage Branch.
In this workshop, Dr. Nguyen Hong Tien, Chief of the Technical Infrastructure Agency under the Ministry of Construction presented Decree No. 80/2014/NĐ-CP dated 06/8/2014 on sewerage and wastewater treatment. Decree No. 80 was enforced on January 1 2015 and replaced Decree No. 88/2007/NĐ-CP dated on May 28 2007 on sewerage in city centers and industrial regions.
A reference presentation by Dr. Lothar Fuchs, Director of Institute for Technical and Scientific Hydrology (Germany), was also shared. The presentation mentioned regulations, government and sewerage management institutions in Germany (enforced laws, functions of technical management units, inspectorate agencies and so on).
The participants actively discussed the method of calculating service fees for sewerage. Besides, entrepeneurs expected the Ministry of Contruction to submit their request to the government that instead of including the fee for rain sewerage with the service fee for water sewerage and wastewater treatment, it should be shifted to the service fee for land and collect it as scheduled.
