Newsletter No. 1 of "Developing Water Supply and Sanitation Sectors in Vietnam through New Partnerships" project

Dear Readers,

Project: "Developing Water Supply and Sanitation Sectors in Vietnam through New Partnerships" is implemented based on the Cooperation Agreement between Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA) and Finnish Water Forum (FWF). The project starts from 01.01.2017 and ends on 31.12.2019. Based on the results of the baseline survey on performance and training demands of VWSA and its member, on 28th June 2017, in Hanoi, VWSA and FWF has successfully organized the kick-off workshop and signing ceremony of the project. 

Summing up the project in 2017, despite the short implementation time, with the efforts and determination of VWSA and FWF, the project activities have been initiated and implemented on schedule. Particularly many activities have been carried out effectively, such as survey and evaluation, seminars organization, working trips with local authorities to help identify the hot issues of the sector, the inadequacies as well as difficulties and challenges faced by enterprises in the roadmap for equitization under the Government's policy; The networking and international cooperation activities have been expanded and new members are admitted as planned. The training and capacity building activities have been promoted so that water enterprises can improve their capacity in corporate governance, operation management and technology renewal, etc.
